Did You Know? The American Heart Association Recently Changed Their Guidelines

Give a tennis ball a good, hard squeeze. You’re using about the same amount of force your heart uses to pump blood through the body. Even at rest, the muscles of the heart work hard. In fact they work twice as hard as the leg muscles of a person sprinting.

Now consider that your heart beats 100,000 times in one day. That’s about 35 million times a year. So doesn’t your hardworking heart deserve a little help? Show your heart some love this month and:

  • eat low-fat, heart healthy foods
  • get your body moving
  • use salt in moderation

You’ll reduce your risk for heart disease and your heart will thank you.
